Today there are two bridges over the river Mandovi running parallel to each other. Initially there was only one bridge connecting Panjim and Porvorim. One slab of this bridge gave way since then ferry services was put into service to commute people from betim to Panjim and other side from malim to Panjim. A new bridge was constructed later parallel to the old bridge. The old bridge was repaired in the later years and is in service. As a result, today there are two bridges over the river mandovi at Panjim.
There are three bridges running over the patto creek. The old patto bridge is used as a one way, to get traffic out of the city. The Old patto bridge is the oldest bridge in Panjim. Over the years it has weakened. A new bridge is constructed a little away from the Old Bridge. This bridge was constructed to navigate the increase of traffic over the old patto bridge. One side of the new bridge is used to enter traffic into the panjim city and the other side of this new bridge is used as at exit for traffic from the panjim city. There is also a third bridge over patto creek which is situated towards mala panjim. This bridge is used as a foot bridge
